In five years the stock base has been diluted by 58%.
To put that in context -
For every $1.00 you spent on purchasing stock five years ago is now worth $0.42.
The share price at that time was a $1.00 and currently is $0.65.
A further 35% dilution.
You seem to miss the fact that it is the proportional increase in shares and not the actual number of shares issued.
This also doesn't include the fact that your investment has made no money and that with the rates of inflation your actual dollar value has decreased.
That truly is a "get your head out of the sand" moment.
