I agree that people are feeling the impact right now so in that sense you are right in your opinion.
My focus on future generations is that I do feel that it will much worse for them and they will have to live with it for their whole lives. Right now the trajectory on Government debt is an acceleration of this debt and frankly, I don't see a political will on either side of the political spectrum to do anything about it. So at some point in the future world economies are going to hit a tipping point and the only way to correct this is a massive correction in terms of asset (stock) prices and a significant decline in the standard of living. To me (and I hate to say it), our generation is doing the opposite of the movie "Paying it forward" - we are "Paying it backwards" - ie living high on the hog today at the expense of future generations.
In terms of your comment, it looks to me like you are in a similar situation to me in that you have quite a few years under your belt and have the financial means to still do what you want to do despite what is going on in terms of inflation and perhaps from time to time grumble about inflation. I don't think the majority of those in future generations will have that luxury.
