RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:«Yukon First Nation calls for halt of mining on its land🇨🇦First dirt is moved in cubic yards, not square yards, so the depth of the landslide is more important than the width and length. To me the slide doesn't look that deep, and looks doable. Second, for all we know it is simply human error and not the fault of the pad design. If this is the case and the water is clear, then the damage done is only to VGCX and it's shareholders and workers jobs and instead of being an environmental disaster it becomes a testament to all the safeguards that are in place for a one off event when poop happens. This means the mine could be restored to how it was, minus the human error of course with more safeguards. This is a problem money can fix and it is hard to see them not getting it quickly in this case. If the problem is mine design flaw, and no fault of VGCX or it's staff, well then we are looking at massive lawsuits and not against VGCX, but those responsible for the flawed design. In this case I would think insurance would kick in also as the lawsuits begin. It may also kick in if this was caused by a simple worker error, or accident not negligence. For example the brakes on a tractor failing and running into the pad. Someone overstacked when they weren't supposed to. There are many ways this can go, all just guessing at this point but the movie is far from over. There is a lot of people with deep pockets who want this to work out. Just my opinion.
