GDI vs GDP
GDI vs GDP Economist like to look at both Gdp and Gdi and it's telling a completely different story. Which one is right? Some people like to aggregate the two to smooth out any volatility and improve the reliability of these statistics.
Nominal gdp has increased ~ 5.8% y/y
Nominal Gdi has increased by ~ 4.3% y/y
In theory, these two should be the same as one man's spending is another man's income. Why are they different and should we rely on one over the other?
Let's see what Gdi will tell us when they report Q2 figures.
