KSM Project Granted 'Substantially Started' Designation Today, Nations Royalty (NRC.v) announced that the British Colombia Provincial Government granted the 'Substantially Started' designation for Seabridge Gold Inc.'s KSM Project in the Golden Triangle of northwest British Columbia.
This designation ensures the Provincial Environmental Assessment Certificate (EAC) for the KSM Project remains valid indefinitely, making it the largest permitted copper-gold development project globally, with 47.3 million ounces of gold and 7.3 billion pounds of copper in Proven and Probable Reserves.
Seabridge has invested over $800 million in the project since receiving the EAC, completing significant infrastructure development.
Nations Royalty holds the right to an annual benefit payment based on the project's mineral tax payments, a right negotiated by the Nisga'a Nation.
NRC's VP of Corporate Development, Kody Penner, highlighted the collaboration between Seabridge, the government, and Indigenous groups, including the Nisga'a and Tahltan, stating:
"We look forward to all groups continuing to work together to advance the KSM Project and fruitful outcomes to Seabridge's joint venture discussions. Our Payment Entitlement, on the large, long-life copper-gold-silver-molybdenum Deposit, is a core piece of the foundation for the future success of Nations Royalty.
The KSM Project is one of five high-quality mining projects in NRC's portfolio, all of which are located in the Golden Triangle with its net asset value totaling $214 million.
