But in the interest of adding value... Using chat GPT to pull 10 years of data from FRED and asking it to run a CAGR calculation - the US M2 over 10 years has grown at a 6% CAGR and 7% over 5 years... using IMF data, the same calculation can be made for global M2 growth coming in even higher at 8.6% CAGR for 10 year period and 10.3% for 5 year period.

When I made the comment, I assumed roughly 8% M2 growth, while acknowledging the growth rate has only ever accelerated in the long-run.

Hope all is well DZ. I would insist you stop playing in the dirt and rather you just enjoy whatever beach you happen to find yourself on today. All the best man.

Hey Frankie, but M2 has only grown by ~ 0.87% y/y far below the current headline inflation rate. Moreover M2 has contracted over a 2 year period so does that mean we had deflation over that timeframe?

Please kindly explain that to me Mr Chatgpt.
