US markets VIX over 60 this morning

US markets VIX over 60 this morningIt hasn't been this high since covid and the 2008 financial crash. Markets are smelling recession with the latest US jobs # and the FED waiting too long to cut.

IMO, a recession if we get one will actually be good in the longer run for beaten up REITs. The unemployment rate will ruse and rates will fall faster than expected to spur economic growth again. I don't like seeing anyone lose their job but it will give the power back to the employer. No more wage increases, no more signing bonuses, fewer benefits and work-from-home may fall to 1 day per week or perhaps disappear.
