There has to be a well thought out, long term phase-in for renewables while utilizing your available fuel sources. Problem is everyone scare mongers that we're going to be living in Waterworld by 2030. They've been saying there is some sort of climate catastrophe on the way since the 60's. To be fair we're seeing quite a few climate related emergencies heat, droughts and floods etc. So maybe we all realize we should do more, every country, before we've done too much damage.
I agree though, we maybe should take the knee jerk, unrealistic goals off and just pledge to do better bit by bit. Hopefully that's enough for the climate and for people to afford their day to day bills.
