Having worked in medical trials, approval can mean so many things.

Approval can also be a synonym for sign-off..

Approval from central lab that all CRs are CR for sure
Approval from one last site that they can release the data after ethics approval
Approval from Ethics for new sites to go live with recruiting.

I suspect it will remain unclear but I thank the poster for emailing MP and getting the clarity that it is likely after the weekend.
