In porphry systems copper is reknown for going into solution.
In porphry copper systems it's quite typical to have 3 kinds of copper.
oxide, carbonate, solution.
Solution copper,
is when copper disolves into chloride and sulphur solution.
Alkai / Base acids.
Though Jean mentions lots of pyrite... i'm not seeing any pyrite in the cores.
A chloride intrusion or deformation will react to a sulphide ore body and convert
minerals to chloride.
If copper can go into solid solution - bound in silicates...
So can gold.

Which begs...if by chance there exists solution minerals,
