In my observation(s), as a Canadian; my opinion watching & seeing things unfold is sad.
Cant think of a better descriptor of how I feel, so I'll stay with Sad.
The USA geographically, economically & politically WAS perhaps best in the world.
Over the past decades, many high paying good quality jobs were off loaded to third world countries.
The middle class has been very nearly eliminated.
The political back biting & nonsense coming out of people's minds..sad.
Regarding trump? He inherited close to a billion $. Now worth much less than that.
He bankrupted not one, but two casinos.
Regarding the inserection? I watched it in real time on the news.
Regardless of political roots. There was a large crowd of people who did attack the capital Jan 6th 2020.
Trump was charged & recieved his second impeachment. The charges are yet to be heard in court.
Interesting, many of those who took part are serving time, convicted etc etc.
There was a documented $2.7 million in damages. Nine people died!
The goal was to stop the electoral counting & overturn the election.
Trump to this day & supported by , sadly many that the election was a fraud.
Even though after mutiple investigations . Many lead by republicans, no voter friaud was found.
Agsin watching in real time Jan 6th, 2020..Trump was begged by his advisors, family & others to denounce the inserection.
Prior to the inserection he told the crowds " to fight like hell"
Then he disappeared. He finally after things were more or less contained, He gave a talk.
Many who followed his encouragement are behind bars, large fines etc.
January 6th? Pathetic. Almost like the 3rd world country Trump claims the dems are creating.
I was very happy to see Biden finally bow out.
He does have ample political experience. However too old & not cognitively well enough to properly run a variety store, let alone a whole country.
His ego was preventing him from seeing HIS reality.
Liking Harris or not, get used to her. She will be the next president.
BTW , Trump organization was convicted in NYNY of business fraud. With a $250 million penalty.
Yet, he is still on the ballot for President. SAD.
reminder , that was a 12 member jury, with unanimous guilty of many counts of faulsifying documents.
Looking back in history. Nixon when " caught" had the sense to resign & move on.
Trump sadly invented phrases like " fake news", witch hunt etc
I'm closer to my 70s than my 50s. As such have seen a lot of things.
I remember when, regardless of party affiliation, the USA politicians were respected & educated. They in debates answered questions with policy focused answers.
The Biden/ Trump debate was pathetic. Trumps answers for the most part were lies, or not even answering the questions.
Biden? sad to watch. I don't think he even knew where he was.
Neither , leader of country caliber.
Want to make America great again? Encourage the very large , very profitable corporations to bring manufacturing back to USA.
Invest proper amounts in education.
Pay people a living wage. Develop a proper national health care system.
i agree 100%, The church, religion, individual beliefs, shoild not be part of school delivery.
To be bold., I like Australia's policies.
You want to move to Australia, very welcome. However park your religious/ culture beliefs at the door.
Not racist. Everyone has the same rules. Don't like it, then leave.
Are all politicians corrupt? That is a discussion for another day.
Short answer,all politicians are people.,Power , fame & wealth lead to distorted values.
Bidens reluctance to step assid a prime example of that.
i like Musk. A genius. Created a car company & in his spare time a comerilized rocket company.
Yet he too has lost focus.
instead if playing with rockets that self destruct, he could be creating for example
desalination plants in California.
would crest permanent well paying hi tech jobs.
would provide well needed water for the west coast food/ farming industries.
and..he coukd make big bucks.
then again, what do I know.
