Gold Producers: Valuations Dip Amidst Strong Gold Prices Gold producer valuations fell 2.0% last week, marking a second consecutive decline, despite gold staying above US$2,000/oz. Average valuations are now 18% lower than during the last few instances when gold hit these levels. Noteworthy shifts: -

 

Barrick (GOLD): EV/EBITDA dropped significantly, hinting at short-term pressures. - Hecla Mining (HL): Highest EV/EBITDA in the group, despite a slight EV/Revenue dip. - Sibanye (SBSW): Lowest valuations, possibly a value play if you're bullish. Meanwhile, base metal producers saw a 0.8% rise. Is the market overly cautious on gold, or is this a buying opportunity? Thoughts?
