Mike O'Conner-LinkedinMichael O'Connor (CEO Oceanic) recently posted on Linkedin, an article about Mike Crawley's (CEO Northland Power) presentation to Green Giraffe Advisory.
Green Giraffe contributed to Northland Power's growth over the past decade. They have deep project structure knowledge base and a broad footprint in green energy. Deal with financing, sea based environmental issues and ongoing connections with all participants.
Mike Crawley will be leaving Northland Sept 30th. The only Canadian based offshore wind developer. He did not say what he will continue to work at. Here is a person who can engage in meaningful community relationships, financing, construction timetables, develop talent and the like.
Kind of hard to believe he will leave the offshore windfarm industry when it has become so much a part of him. Wherever he goes, his love of green energy will not be far behind.
In looking towards the future, Mike discussed. --"The governor of the pace of economic growth in any jurisdiction may very well be their ability to efficiently secure power generation at scale. What will be the right approach to system planning? What capital pools will be required? How can the requisite talent be secured and developed? Can the supply chain ramp up?"
