The way I see itGovernment has now taken over this site (by order of the court) for "environmrntal" reasons. It will be a looooong process... as it always is with government bureaucracy. Mismanagement and cost overruns are the hallmark of government undertakings.
So I expect a year or 2 of studies and inquiries and actions limited to ensuring there is no danger of any further environmental damage ...whether real or imaginary.
Victoria may continue to exist as a corporation as they may still have some assets...other properties etc. But this is not certain if they are they are asked by the courts to liquidate everything to pay government bills.
In such case Victoria is wound down... deregistered, it's corporate charter canceled and it ceases to exist.
After the government is finished there, it will walk away, billing the taxpayer (or Ottawa) for the hundreds of millions in cleanup. And of course, the site will be available for sale if someone wants to buy it ....the result of that cannot be predicted or quantified at this time as a lot will be done between now and then
Alexco was a deal struck between them and Hecla. Not the same thing here. Once government takes over its a very different story
