WRLG Advances Madsen w/ High-Grade Infill & Surface Drilling West Red Lake Gold Mines (Ticker: WRLG.v, WRLGF for U.S. investors) is advancing its Madsen Mine project, a high-grade gold deposit in the Red Lake Gold District of Northwestern Ontario. Recent developments, as highlighted in WRLG's recent video titled "Why Did Our News On August 12 Matter?", reflect the company's strategic efforts to restart the mine by 2025, driven by an extensive infill drilling program and a new surface drill campaign.
Infill Drilling at Austin and McVeigh Zones
The infill drilling at the Austin and McVeigh zones within the Madsen Mine, featured in the video, has been a focal point. The Austin zone, which hosts a significant portion of the deposit's indicated resources, has been the primary target.
The drilling aims to precisely map gold concentrations, minimizing waste and improving the efficiency of future mining operations. The latest drill results from Austin include high-grade intercepts such as 107.61 g/t Au over 2.5m, including 252.10 g/t Au over 1m.
The McVeigh zone, known for its geological complexity and high-grade historical results, has also delivered impressive outcomes. Notably, WRLG intersected 106.99 g/t Au over 2.35m, including 479.09 g/t Au over 0.5m.
These high-grade results, discussed in the video, reinforce the potential of both zones and align with WRLG's goal of building a high-confidence inventory of minable ounces to support the 2025 restart.
Surface Drilling Program
In addition to underground efforts, WRLG has launched a 2024 surface drilling program, covering up to 10,000 meters across high-priority targets on the Madsen property. The surface program aims to uncover new high-grade gold mineralization, potentially adding significant value to the Madsen property.
WRLG’s methodical approach, combining infill and surface drilling, underscores its commitment to unlocking the full potential of the Madsen Mine. As the company progresses towards its 2025 restart goal, these drilling programs will play a critical role in shaping the future of the project and solidifying WRLG's position in the gold mining sector.
