The economy will be fudged

Until the election day and then everything is going to come out. Nominal gdp in the first 2 quarters is growing at the same rate as Cpi inflation. This tells me that the gdp deflator that statisticians use to calculate real gdp is highly flawed. It's very easy to spin the narrative that the economy is growing if you use faulty inputs as your gdp deflator. If Nominal is growing at the rate of inflation, then real gdp is essentially flat over the first 2 quarters of the year. There is also the potential for further revisions which could paint a more negative picture on the economy.
