Former BlackRock Executive Appoints to Advisory Committee

Former BlackRock Executive Appoints to Advisory Committee

Earlier this week, Abitibi Metals (AMQ.c AMQFF) announced the appointment of former BlackRock Executive, Chris Leavy, to the company's Advisory Committee.

Chris Leavy, CFA, is a highly regarded Wall Street asset manager with over 20 years of experience.

Recognized as a "Top 100 Fund Manager" by Barron's, he has held senior roles at major financial institutions like BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, and OppenheimerFunds.

At BlackRock, he was the Chief Investment Officer of Fundamental Equities (Americas), overseeing $115 billion in assets.

Prior to that, he was the Chief Investment Officer of Equities at OppenheimerFunds, where he significantly grew the value equity group's assets.

Chris’s expertise and leadership will be pivotal in assisting AMQ "in navigating the opportunities and challenges of the mining industry", as he will be providing counsel on business strategy, capital markets, and corporate governance.

The B26 Polymetallic Deposit

Having recently commenced its Phase II drill program, AMQ targeting 16,500m of drilling to follow up on the success of Phase 1, which revealed significant expansion potential in three key exploration areas: the western plunge extension, mid-level targets, and open-pit optimization.

Notably, the polymetallic deposit has a historical resource estimate of 7.0 million tonnes at 2.94% Cu Eq (Indicated) and 4.4 million tonnes at 2.97% Cu Eq (Inferred).

Well-funded, with $15.5 million allocated for the 2024 drilling program, an additional 20,000 meters of drilling is planned for 2025, which will contribute to an updated resource estimate and a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) to complete the B26 option.
