RE:Great List of What PYR is Up To

RE:Great List of What PYR is Up ToAnd Constellium is working with PyroGenesis to test the use of plasma torch technology to support Constellium's decarbonization roadmap:

https://www.constellium.com/news/constellium-and-pyrogenesis-partner-to-advance-plasma-burner-technology

From the NR: Constellium announced today the signing of a partnership agreement with PyroGenesis Canada Inc. to test the use of plasma torch technology to support Constellium’s decarbonization roadmap. After successful first laboratory trials, Constellium and PyroGenesis have now entered an agreement to test this technology at industrial scale with the implementation of a demonstrator plasma-heated furnace system in one of Constellium’s casthouses.

Very impressive the results from PYR's study/paper (done in conjunction with Constellium) on the use of plasma torches for Decarbonization of Aluminum Reverberatory Furnaces: The Case of Plasma Melting:

Note that the test that PyroGenesis did for Constellium not only demonstrate the efficacy of this innovative approach but also confirmed the accuracy of the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model that PYR has developed.

Constellium is a big company and very impressive what they do.  Note that Constellium sent PYR a furnace to test/use for this study.  For them to have taken such a decision shows they are convinced of the benefits of using plasma torches in these furnaces.

We are Constellium:
Constellium is a global leader in the development, manufacturing, and recycling of aluminium products and solutions. We design and manufacture advanced alloys and engineered solutions for a range of applications, such as beverage cans, cars, airplanes, and more. Our story dates back more than a century, but our mission remains the same: to create game-changing aluminium solutions for a circular and sustainable economy and a brilliant new day.

And:

Looks like the work that PyroGenesis and Constellium is paying off, from the Outlook/MD&A section from PYR's annual results/report:

Also as mentioned in the Q2 2023 and Q3 2023 Outlooks, the Company has been working with a number of different companies over the past few years towards these goals. The results from the conclusion of recent major tests, conducted in conjunction with these companies, have been very positive, and negotiations are underway for next step deployments and/or sales, with more detailed announcements on these projects expected during Q2 2024.

Aluminum Furnace Tests: The Company is in final discussions with two (2) major aluminum companies for live furnace tests of plasma as a process heat source in melting and holding furnaces. If confirmed, these companies will each ship aluminum furnaces to PyroGenesis for installation at PyroGenesis’ factory, where plasma will be tested within the furnaces as a potential replacement for natural gas. These tests are similar to furnace tests that occurred during 2023 on site at PyroGenesis with another client, but these new potential tests will be conducted using larger furnaces.

Aluminum Cast House Decarbonization: The Company is part of a tendered bid process for the testing of plasma within an aluminum cast house of a leading global aluminum company.

BCONTVentures wrote: And another great comment from @pennytodollar:

@pennytodollar The major difference for me is that almost all other sub-dollar companies waiting for their break wait just as long as PYR but are relying on a single vertical and a single big client. PYR has multimillion dollar sales with international companies in multiple completely unrelated markets. Those aren't even the big "legs on the stool" and all it will take is one of the 5-7 contacts worth a potential $100 million to come in to completely change the lay of the land. PYR with $50-100M cash is going to be a whole different beast.

BCONTVentures wrote:Definitely lots going on at PyroGenesis:

BCONTVentures wrote:And some great comments from @pennytodollar:

@pennytodollar @Guppy if we get $100M contract and it looks like we might get more, then yes, I totally believe we are looking at $10

@pennytodollar I know it seems a long shot at this very moment, but some of our projects are linked to potential contracts of that size

@pennytodollar given our margins are actually quite good on torches, that would be a P/E ratio in the realm of reason - again assuming the market believes others will follow (and we have a few of that size - each of which I believe becomes more likely to get signed once we have one)

@pennytodollar And also, very easy for hype and frenzy to take over here, PYR is a stock on a lot of radars. If we cross 5 on a solid deal, I think the machine is kicking in again somewhat to bring us higher.

BCONTVentures wrote:And from the Q2 Business Update/Outlook, these can be added to the list of what PYR is up to:

  • Plasma-Based Graphite Production:
The Company is in advanced discussions with an entity engaged in the production of graphite, for a first phase design and delivery of a customized pilot-scale plasma reactor and associated testing system, with an estimated value of between $500,000 to $1 million.
  • Plasma-Based Glass Valorization:
The Company is in final negotiations with an entity in Canada, for a plasma-based furnace for use in the melting and valorization of recycled glass.
  • Plasma Torches:
The Company has been in discussions over several years with a European entity, to act as a potential supplier of plasma torches for the entity’s waste-to-energy initiatives; the entity has, at times, listed PyroGenesis as their torch supplier in various publications online. This entity has recently announced having entered into an agreement with a German multi-Billion-dollar leading technology company to accelerate green energy transition through waste-to-energy technology. The entity announced that it aims to establish 300 plants producing 1 million tons of hydrogen over the next several years.
