VentriPoint Diagnostics Ltd V.VPT

Alternate Symbol(s):  VPTDF

Ventripoint Diagnostics Ltd. is a Canada-based medical device company. It is engaged in the development and commercialization of diagnostic tools to monitor patients with heart disease. It develops a suite of applications for all heart diseases and imaging modalities, including congenital heart disease, pregnancy, pulmonary hypertension, COVID-19, technically difficult imaging and cardiotoxicity in oncology patients. It provides application of artificial intelligence to echocardiography. Its flagship product, Ventripoint Medical System (VMS+), enhances echocardiography to deliver cMRI levels of accuracy for volumetric measurements and ejection fractions for all four chambers of the heart. It has developed a solution that transforms cardiac care through its 3D ECHO and MRI software. VMS products are powered by its proprietary Knowledge Based Reconstruction technology, which is the result of a decade of development and provides accurate volumetric cardiac measurements equivalent to MRI.

Innovation & Cardiovascular Imaging: spotlight on hashtagechocardiography

Inspired by the great talks at this year’s hashtagESCCongress on hashtaginnovation, thought we could do a speed round on the latest and hottest on hashtagartificialintelligence & echo’s!

: AI is now helping us (i) perform echo studies faster, (ii) interpret them faster, (iii) identify disease that might previously have gone undiagnosed, (iv) risk stratify our patients and ultimately take better care of people and help them live better and longer!

: A study demonstrated that hashtagAI can significantly reduce acquisition and processing time by 77% compared to standard clinical workflows, while maintaining high accuracy and reproducibility.

hashtagdeeplearning : view classification, image quality enhancement, segmentation of cardiac structures, and detection of cardiac function abnormalities. AI frameworks like EchoNet-Dynamic have been developed for beat-to-beat assessment of cardiac function. These models surpass human experts in tasks like LV segmentation and EF estimation, providing more reproducible and accurate assessments & less dependency on the operator's expertise.

, e.g diastolic dysfunction, hashtagamyloid heart disease and hashtagvalvularheartdisease. AI algorithms can assist in image acquisition, view identification, and segmentation of valve and cardiac structures.

- like EchoCLIP integrate hashtagecho images with expert interpretations (also check out Us2.ai operating in the same space). Models likes these allow for (near) full automation of both study performance and interpretation taking down the total time needed to perform a comprehensive echo study to less than 10min! (I’ve seen it in action, shout out to Seth Koeppel
!)

We are only getting started with Echo! There’s already evidence that patients with different types of hashtagheartfailure, valvular heart disease, hashtaghypertrophic cardiomyopathy and coronary artery disease are benefiting from AI in Echo!

To my echocardiographer colleagues and CV imagers: what AI tools are you using in your Echo labs? Which ones do you enjoy and which ones do you wish you could change?

Article by one of my role models in the field, Dr. Partho Sengupta
- thank you so much Partho for so tirelessly advancing the field and allowing us to take excellent care of our patients!
