Chicken pox is also a member of the Herpes Virus family & hence shares similar characteristics (i.e. enveloped, double-stranded DNA virus)...just presents with different clinical manifestations. Based on Dr. Coombs' earlier in vitro research, one can at least make an educated guess that what works against HSV-1 has a good chance of working against Chicken Pox as well....though perhaps at a different drug concentration...JMO.
His earlier studies also demonstrated promising in vitro results against other enveloped viruses, including human coronavirus, Zika virus & influenza H1N1 virus.
The above reflects early game results, but far from a forfeit...& we got Willie Mays batting clean up for the extra innings, & apparently no one has left the park ; )
