RE:RE:RE:RE:I wonder if BPO does not declare a dividend, shareholdersBasically a company never has to pay dividends. Basically a company that doesn't pay dividends as expected will have zero access to capital markets. Basically. This would not be a decision taken lightly. Perhaps that would not extend to BN but if I were Bruce I would not be making that bet for a measly $50ish mm per quarter. No chance. Imagine the billions of dollars of market cap lost, and for what?
I'm no DTLA specialist but I believe that was a non-recourse vehicle and BN decided to hand the keys over. What does that have to do with BPO/BPY/BN? Do you really think BPY is in such dire straights that BN is gonna hand the keys over? First, BPY's health is trending in the right direction as rates come down and cap rates come up. Second, not a chance BN wants that smoke. No chance. None.
My bet is that a couple of years from now people will look at the charts and say OMG why didn't I buy back in the low/mid teens? Cs will be back to par, the other quality series will be in the $20s, and you'll be kicking yourself for handing me your Es in the $12s. Sad for you, great for me!
