I totally agree with all you said here......I can't imagine anyone investing in individual securities and not have a clue what inside information is or isn't.

I have issued many press releases in my past life and dividend declaration press releases take 5 minutes and BPO using words like "generally" in response to your email is completely ridiculous.  

Having said this, I have come to the conclusion that because of the BPY guarantee, we can just look to each BPO pref prospectus on the BPO website in terms of the timing of the payment of dividends, and in the event something was not paid, there would be a press release for that! BPO does issue press releases for the reset amount of dividends every 5 years.

I note that the BPY prefs have press releases issued each quarter.
