Delta is the largest airline in the world by revenue. Any good news from the ALPA-Hudy front on how these pilots are faring? How much of a pay increase they received? Would be awesome to release this update now so Air Canada will be more fearful of such mass exodus.
On that note, Air Canada is around the tenth largest airline by revenue in this world maybe 12th or 13th if you include government owned national airlines. Somewhere between Turkish Airlines and East China Airlines by size. Would it make more sense that pilot salaries shoule be aligned with Turkish and China airlines? Size does matter does it not?
And when you consider North America as a continent, and trade under NAFTA and such, Mexico is certainly an important part of the triad, and a major destination for Canadian travellers. So why are pilot salaries not aligned with the salaries that Mexican pilots draw in pesos? Why this intense focus on Delta? Surely if anyone wants Delta pay they should do what is necessary to get a job with Delta.. makes sense.
ARBITRATION sounds about right. FINAL, BINDING, IMPOSED.
If any of this is true , these pilots would have to pay a lot to get through US Immigration and then take a pay cut at the new carrier. They go to the bottom of the list and would be the first to be laid off during an economic slowdown.
That's why they know that AC is the best option for them. There are a lot more than 500 pilots waiting to take their place at AC.
