RE:RE:RE:RE:Keeping an eye on WilanI think private companies will often make big distributions to shareholders early in a new year--because they will then get their $$ as early as possible while having the tax consequences bumped to one year later.
So if Wilan really has achieved a big settlement then it would make sense that they distribute to their shareholders in January 2025--and pay Quarterhill to go away just before then.
In that unfolding of events, if Wilan were okay to be civilized about it, they would pay off Quarterhill just before the end of 2024. Quarterhill would get the numbers in their YE statements and Wilan would start 2025 with a clean(er) slate, ready to make their remaining shareholders happy.
