Preception is everything and you may be correct. However these days the markets seem to be quick to punish companies that miss the mark or report a loss, even in the microcap space.
Interesting comment that Doug made regarding the lack of money being invested in the microcap space, I agree with that statement, it has been that way for quite sometime now. Today it can be argued as to the same status in the smallcap space, my opinion is that money is trickling into the smallcap space but we are way under the numbers from precovid years. Access to capital has been very tough, largely due to higher borrowing costs.
I am in the camp that smart money will come back into the microcap space, continuing to lower interest rates here in Canada and south of the border will help speed the process, however who has the best crystal ball for timing that move?
Like many here, my gut tells me that Doug released preliminary Q4 results for a specific reason. Hopefully sooner rather than later we may find out why. I don't think enough of us here, myself included are really paying attention to the K to 12 school side of the business. Protecting our children is front and center and these school divisions really have no choice in funding these programs or they risk falling further behind. This world is an ever changing crazy place, safety, security and video survellance is paramount in protecting these kids.
As Doug mentioned that GateKeeper will always be spending money on R&D, otherwise it's time to close the doors. Final comment, I have no doubt that GateKeeper can and will achieve that 100 million dollar revenue point. When? conservatively the next three to five years in my opinion. Keep in mind there are so many variables that could excelerate that growth. We also could be bought out by a larger player in the space.
Doug said that he spoke with 17 or 18 institutional houses in NewYork. The ones that are serious and want into this story, what will they do to establish a large position? They all have the resources and tools needed to find out at what price level there is significant stock for sale, and they are pro's at flushing the shares out. Those of you with level two trading can access better stock information, however it doesn't mean that things won't change on a daily basis.
A few of us here know that there are at least a couple or more retail shareholders with large positions in the company, so do the institutional boys. Perhaps these shareholders will get flushed out in the not to distant future? Ah yes speculation, the love hate relationship that it creates for all of us.
