USA company heartland power sold old coal to ng stations in forestberg and Hanna Alberta to transalta after making huge money after COVID in Alberta on power. They knew power prices would sink with more capacity and now translalta has older tech ng power plants sitting idle whenever renewables have any type of material production.
that new cascades power plant can't even produce at max right now as isn't the demand.
