Do you just take any analysis' or talking head's opinion at face value every time they talk? I like to see or know about some of thier past commentary to see if they are worth my further time investment in listening to.

This applies to randoms on message boards like here, CEO, seeking alpha, ect... Looking back on the history of a poster and how they talk, interact, assess and show interest in certain things is very valueable in assessing if this person is worth listening to, how to handle them and what points they will focus in on in a conversation.

I've gone over most people's convo history that I've interacted with here and many whom have posted that I haven't talked to, most of the time it's to see what other names they have interest in talking about. Most of the time it's confirmation that that they enjoy to just rip on actively discussed names or that they have similar issues in arguments on other boards. Once in a while tho I find people follow interesting names that I didn't know existed and I go off on a tangent and learn about new companies.

I find it a very useful tool in filtering 'noise' from stuff I should look further into.
