Cu is defying the forecasts of a move lower.

Grid spending will be quasi-defence spending if AI becomes the next geo-political battleground says Hamilton. This seems like Cu becoming a strategic metal, if making sure an adversary doesn't get the AI advantage on you triggers a societal survival response and much of the fight will be determined by how much power you can generate and put through the grid to power systems plus all the cooling. That's a metal that should be strategically stockpiled.

I was resigned to waiting until 2026 for a sustained price at $5.50 or above. That would be blockbuster making $4.50/lb. on 1.3 billion lbs. or more produced. Maybe Cu will be stronger than expected in 2025.
