DJ Cannabis Industry's Eyes Are on Florida -- Market Talk

1304 ET - Hurricane Milton and a ballot initiative to legalize recreational cannabis in Florida has made the Sunshine State the talk of the town at Benzinga's 2024 Cannabis Capital conference, Alliance Global Partners analyst Aaron Grey says in a research note. Operators are still optimistic that the measure will pass with voters, based on external polling and Trulieve Cannabis' internal polling, the analyst says. Regarding the hurricane, cannabis companies are mainly worried about employee safety and ensuring cultivation facilities are able to keep operating, the analyst says. Operators say they have generators ready to replace power and insurance measures in place as well, according to the note. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
