RE:RE:RE:Long Player says the Corentyne Block is lost!Kcac1- the fact that they designed Wei-1 as an appraisal well which is much more costly than an exploratary well means that they had justification to do so from the results of Kawa. Appraisal means it involves flow testing the well on various choke sizes shutting in the well after each test to determine the reservoir build-back pressure and from all of that info determine commercial viability.

They got their MDT tool stuck in the Santonian on Wei-1 and had to sidetrack around it to get to programmed TD. My buddy, expert deep water drilling engineer snd company man with Chevron in the GOM, Kabinda offshore Angola etc ad nauseum says that the sidetrack added at least $30 to $40 million to the cost of the well.

Simply put, they ran out of money to test Wei-1. So that's where we're at. They've found enough in Kawa to justify designing and drilling Wei-1 as an appraisal well but the sidetrack extra costs made it impossible for Wei-1 to be tested even though they spent tens of miilions extra to design and drill a well that could be tested.

They don't have thw financial horsepower to go it alone. They need a "white knight". So far, it seems, that all that they have encountered is vultures waiting for them to die.
