There's no doubt that a high short counts that needs to be covered on a buying spree by investors shoots a stock into the stratosphere. However, finding decent stocks with great news that has yet to be discovered by other investors in a sector that is ready to explode is also another way to see a decent move in a stock. Fundamentals work too, just slower.
