Artis Real Estate Investment Trust is an unincorporated closed-end REIT based in Canada. Artis REIT's portfolio comprises properties located in Central and Western Canada and select markets throughout the United States, including regions such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado, New York, and Wisconsin. The properties are divided into three categories: office, retail, and industrial. The industrial properties account for most of the portfolio, followed by the office properties and the retail properties.

This is an interesting point, RioCan just had their earnings call yesterday and they said that they sold some properties (including Strada, an apartment plus retail below in Little Italty Toronto near College and Bathurst) and they all sold well above NAV.

The deep value is indeed in the public market REITs. All it takes is one big whale (ie. Blackrock, Brookfield, a pension fund or insurance company) to buy a public REITs and say that and it would bump the whole sector up.

In the meantime I wait for Gary to whine and capitulate. Every time he cries out in pain I nibble a little more.
