RE:Economics 101 - Not PoliticsYou're right BK and I think too many of his ski runs end up with him going headfirst into a tree. He also brought up the cabinet qualifications but A. it's the game they play to criticize every single appointment and B. it doesn't take much to look up the qualifications of the Biden cabinet - which no one here talked about for 4 years. I think most people on both sides would like to see government waste, fraud and abuse cleaned up but not this self styled 'independant'.
And as Timbo says he only shows up here to be political and now that the adults are truely back in charge the children have come out complain.

With regard to your comment about governement civil servants being concerned for their jobs is absolutely true. They should be very concerned, because arguably 70% are unecessary, or redundant and they generate a multiplier effect and inflate the annual federal budget. The falicy of a minimum standard to qualify for working in the federal government as "the best and brightest" will be on full display very soon and be a key contributor to reduce the federal deficit. Economics 101 - interest payments are a burden on any economy. Who doesn't understand that credit card debt is a burden on a family budget? Full disclosure of the shear volume of excess spending and waste will finally reveal the true amount of wasteful federal spending to the American public. The existance of these unecessary bureaucarcies cloud the vision of what's important. Less waste and more focus on funding/solving the medical issues of mankind would be a big step in the right direction. IMO.
Here are some examples - and it only took 1 hour to find them. Unfortunately, these are examples of what has already happened and the funding spent. The purpose for these Economics 101 examples are to illustrate the real goals. The goal is to prevent them from reoccuring or generating similar acts of stupidity. If the voting public only knew what was being spent, they wouldn't vote for those that are proposing to spend it.

The level of waste based on the useless need for what each agency actually produces is astounding. I'll fiinish with the comment that the cost of the Bureau of Labor Statistics can be eleminated with a room full of Master Degree Mathamatics interns, instead of funding this agency for $750M. The BLS is responsible for calculating the CPI from which the annual Social Security COLA is based. No one believes that the inflation index was only 3.4% in 2023 or 2.6% in 2024. And to further embarras these "official" statistics, the core CPI calculation does not include the cost(s) of food or energy. Yet consumers still must pay for both.. Again Economics 101.
The amount of "low-hanging fruit throughout the orchard of the US federal government budget will take many years to complete. And it won't be difficult to find.
Thank you for bringing up the issue and offering the opportunity to point out the possibilities of a brighter future with less debt, based on excessive federal wasteful spending. Which may also contribute to greater funding availability for our fight to beat cancer with TLT.
