RE:RE:Economics 101 - Not Politics@thadeush et al,
Just b/c you make an inflamitory statement that fits your argument doesn't mean it's the whole truth.
Trying to make an argument requires all of the details otherwise it's just not. You're statement is far from the entire truth as I, my entire family and a huge % of America enjoyed the benefits of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Might I add, they were very welcome changes, if for no other reason that those same Americans were more than a little concerned that those tax breaks would expire. There fixed it for you. Full disclosure: I didn't agree with the entire scope of the tax breaks, but it was a HUGE move in the right direction. Pun intended.

In Summary: The Trump tax cuts did benefit the wealthy, but they also benefited nearly every American because they lowered taxes across the board. The rich benefited from Trump lowering the top marginal income rate in 2017, from 39.6% to 37%. For this year, that rate applies to income above $578,126 for a single taxpayer. Many high-income households also benefited from the corporate tax rate cut, the new break for businesses that file through the individual side of the tax code, and the increase to the exemption for the estate tax. But the Trump tax cuts also lowered taxes for middle- and lower-income households, including by lowering income taxes for lower brackets, expanding the child tax credit, and doubling the standard deduction. An analysis by the Tax Policy Center, a left-of-center Washington think tank, found that 80.4% of taxpayers received tax cuts, across the income spectrum.
How did we get here - to this point of absolute invective arguments? Here's how: The current political majority finally woke up. Pun intended. It finally occured to them "How could anyone think it would be permissable to decide to reach into someone elses pocket and spend their children's and grandchildren's future? All in the name of buying votes to stay in power - is beyond any bad words I could write."
There's much more - but I won't go much further than just mentioning them. Trillions of dollars spent without a public vote on illigal alliens.... to +800B dollars on paying off student loan debt, which could reach more than a trillion. All by dozens of executive orders. The Dem's didn't campaign on a trillion dollar give-away during the 2020 election. And Joe didn't think of it either. AANDD, the last one - was really bad for the millions of families and students that paid off their loans. For any government to expect anyone else to pay off someone elses debt just b/c it's politically motivated is worth losing their jobs. AND THEY DID. The majority of the American public finally realized that the only Americans that will be responsible for these atrocious executive actions will be everyone's children and grandchildren. They're all too young to vote, but are now paying for it.
These and many more are all in an effort to buy votes.... pure and simple.
I know that there are many that have no love for Americans or America, and wish to express their deepest desires for total failure. The American public at large has now given you something to both cry and yell about. Just know - we're very happy about it. You're anxiety over our decisions is just a bonus.
