RE:RE:RE:GIVE it time ALL good things will happen.Sarge, thank you for mentioning ENF. I was involunteerly moved to ENB from ENF and was complaining about the loss of income.

There was a period that ENB investors were really depressed when ENB extpanded in the States and the share price dropped like a stone as worse as BCE. If I remember it right. It dropped from the all time high of $66 in April 2015 to $33 in March 2020. ENF investors were caught by that downfall. The nay sayer sang the same song like BCE nay sayer. Now, ENB is paying 6-7% dividend at $60.

Coming back to BCE, it hit $74 in April 2022 and fell to $37 this month. Can it recover from here? I think so because it has deep pocket and the will to trim the staff and organization.

SargeX wrote: I remember people screaming about ENB buying Spectra back in 2016-2017. They took on a huge amount of debt to do the deal. At the time, we only held ENF and not ENB so it really didn't matter to us. We only eventually got into ENB when they rolled up ENF in mid-2018.

As an aside, my favourite sector over the last number of years has been midstream/pipelines. We've held PPL, KEY, TRP, and ENF/ENB for quite a few years and the 4 make up 38.9% of our entire portfolio. There's been a few bumps in the share price but we don;t really care as we are dividend growth/income retiree investors. Other then KEY taking a short pause, the 4 companies always seem to increase their divy every year.

As an aside part 2, many of the big take-overs have failed miserably so I understand some might have concerns about Zipfy. I actually think it's a very good move for a number of reasons including focusing on the core business, diversifying outside of the broken Canada, etc. It's also not that large a deal when compatring the pruchase price to BCE's total market cap (especially before the correction)

People will just need to have patience. We're actually planning on adding more in the new year in our TFSAs.

Ciao
  Sarge
