Since the ex dividend date will be December 23...

is it likely the share price will basically drop by the dollar 10 dividend the next day or so?

I know other stocks that go ex dividend date, generally drop in price after the dividend date.

so if the shares are at $3.67 today.

could I say $ 3.67 + the $1..10 or is The dollar 10 baked into $3.67.

thanks for any advice, just trying to decide when to take some off the table..

average share price is around $2.50

any further insight would be great ..
thx !!

Not a dumb question as many factors are involved. Firstly, anybody in a taxable account will likely consider taxes. Secondly, CAR (65% holder) has not indicated what its’ tax situation is for ‘24. There is a possibility that it may choose to sell some to avoid higher tax.for its’ holders. In registered accounts the calculation is more straightforward. After the 23rd the sp will likely drop to reflect the special distribution. The amount will be dependent on the perceived value of the assets after tax.
