Ignoring taxes (and mkt conditions), it should drop by the exact amount of the distribution on the ex date. But I suspect some taxable holders will buy back in after selling, so might not drop quite

Not a dumb question as many factors are involved. Firstly, anybody in a taxable account will likely consider taxes. Secondly, CAR (65% holder) has not indicated what its’ tax situation is for ‘24

Not quite, The current price of 3.64 includes the special distribution of about 1.13 so there's still a gap to close on the balance of the portfolio.
