Short Position Adjustment

Since Friday trading it seems the Short numbers were adjusted down from 2.65% to 1.98% of the 590M share float. This 4M share adjustment is far too great a number to be based upon Friday trading. So, I am assuming it is an adjustment. The question is what caused the adjustment and why isn't there a report on the cause. Anyone have access or knowledge on what occurred?
