RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Most of these companies are uninvestible So you almost answered the question, nice try.
I'm sure most would agree that progress on US legalization will be the major mover on the vast majority of cannabis titles, correct.
Cannabis legalization will be decided by a review process which will largely take place behind closed doors. This too I think most will agree with.
Large institutional traders may catch wind of voting results prior to them becoming public (no big shocker to anyone)
So what we can expect is that we will see volume + SP movements on the bigger names in the sector a few days before the actual news comes out.
Long Position investors can ride out a dip however anyone who sold short will have difficulties riding out an increase in SP without covering (buying black) their short position.
Short Covers translate to a purchase of shares off the open market, maybe you knew that, maybe you didn't however bid support and movements from shorts buying back can result in what is called a short squeeze.
If Canopy releases positive news in the meantime investors of the company could see the same thing, a rapid increase in SP.
Let's see if Canopy has some positive news this week, could be well worth the wait.
Best Regards
