Because it would be a public relations/shareholder disaster.  Duh!

Nonsense, all financial strategies have the same objective.

“When someone pledges stock as collateral for a loan and then defaults, the collateral is indeed lost. If the stock's price drops during the loan term, the debtor might replace the collateral at a lower cost, potentially gaining some equity.  However, this isn't typically the main goal of pledging shares.”
 
Who said it was “typical”????  Perhaps concentrating on reading comprehension and avoidance of broad over-reaching pronouncements might add to one’s credence. Frankly I can't quite grasp what your argument is supposed to be about.
