RE:RE:RE:US/Canada Union - similar to EUThe US markets are, and will be taking a beating too.
The Orangutan (OJ) is nuts. The US public is going to find out what they voted for in the next couple of years. The average American who voted for him, were voting for Border control NOT for isolationism. NOT every rich American will do well. The ultra rich will do well. The main stream Americans were tricked into voting for OJ's "the US against the world" ideals. Isolationism is dangerous.
This OJ, is a dengerous autocrat. He is going to be a hand full to get rid of, even after these next 4 years.
Canada is in a good place with it's natural resources, energy, lumber, and the rare earth minerals that the chipmakers need. They will have to play our game or risk a even higher INFLATION. The US is going to find out that, they need Canada more than Canada needs the US. We just need a PM with some common sense to build some housing, and increase the supply here. Therefore we can bring RE prices down in the next 5 years to repair the harm that Trudope has created. We're too small a country to have taken in one seventh of the countries population as immigrants, in 3 years. We took in about 5M Immigrants in 3 years. The population of Canada was 35M and now we're 40M. This kind of Immigration without a plan is just not sustainable. In fact it was a disaster. So,
close the borders,
reign in the Planning system by
taking the power out of the hands of the Municipal Governments and fix the RE market. This will speed up the building industry in the next 5 to 10 years.
Finally, we should close down our Immigration system until we have stabilized our RE.
No Immigrants, especially, rich ones.
Just Trades or skilled labor. Or
otherwise we'll go into a long term recession. Thanks to OJ. bicente wrote: ChrisM5527 wrote: In Europe, there is a similarity to many of the country sizes and economic footprints. It results in equality of interaction between everone (to some degree). Any kind of agreement between the US and Canada would always benefit the US. They are just to big.. If you want Canada to be Canada for the long term, the road of a EU type unification would end it.
Worst thing that ever happened was the free trade agreement and subsequent globalism. My 2 cents.
I agree with you 100 % , we would never be better off having anything to do with the US , especially not now with the orangutan in power ... it's all about him and his family/friends ... I think he is yelling at America because he knows he will get nothing from the rest of the world .. we knew chaos was coming when he won the vote so let's hunker down and manage as best we can ufor 4 years ...
