RE:Is 18A do or die for Intel fab (Or at least fab in Intel)?

RE:Is 18A do or die for Intel fab (Or at least fab in Intel)?Seeing INTC jump on speculation today and two thoughts

I'm not a PhD economics or finance with a specialization in M&A, but one, any acquisition will eventually making dealing with intel more expensive for the government and customers, when an acquirer pays a premium eventually you will too, the result is either quality or value loss, it'll likely be the latter. It's not like intel is a small company that could benefit from EOS

And 2,

Any takeover will have to be approved by shareholders, if they believe the upside is bigger than any takeover price they will probably sell.

Right now much is contingent upon 18A - will an acquirer pay a premium for a big risk?
