Western Copper and Gold Corporation is a Canada-based mining company. The Company is engaged in developing the Casino Project. The Casino Project is a copper-gold mining project in Yukon, Canada. The Casino porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum deposit is located in west central Yukon, in the northwest trending Dawson Range mountains, approximately 300 kilometers (km) northwest of the territorial capital of Whitehorse. The Casino project is located on Crown land administered by the Yukon Government and is within the Selkirk First Nation traditional territory and the Tr’ondek Hwechin traditional territory lies to the north. The Casino Property lies within the Whitehorse Mining District and consists of approximately 1,136 full and partial Quartz Claims and 55 Placer Claims acquired in accordance with the Yukon Quartz Mining Act. The total area covered by Casino Quartz Claims is approximately 21,126.02 hectares (ha). The total area covered by Casino Placer Claims is 490.34 ha.

My opinion...if I was regulator or FN or citizen of Yukon...I'd say yes. 


I'm of the opinion if I were any of those 3 with vested input on this...I wouldn't approve any permitting unless I know who the operator will be. Alternatively, I would make permit contingent on only operator allowed would be Rio, BHP, Etc or any other major that has at least a market cap of X billion. 

I'm pretty confident no one is going to approve Casino operated by someone like Victoria or any of the others like them that didn't have financial means to stand behind their failures...and I don't care who the ultimate cause of the issue is...bottom line is the mine was OWNED by Victoria and they didn't have adequate finances to stand behind their failures issues!
