Thus the ratio of oil to water is caculated as follows: 10,202 divided by 4994 equals 2.04. There is therefore 2.04 barrels of oil for each barrel of water using the numbers in your post. To calculate the percent [as you did] you do the following: 4994 divided by 10,202 equals .489 [ 49%]
