RE: amen to all those who praise,but?Good point about where one would find an investment to compare if we are bought out. I was not suggesting that the one time bonus buy out would be the dream scenario, rather I was speculating that it might come to be because that is the nature of the options available to the managers of large pools of conservative cash. The fast, high yield profits of takeovers are great for short to mid term holdings but, as you indicated may be less attractive in the long run than a steady dividend payout with steadily rising stock value. The yield of RioCan seems to hold at about 3-5% above prime, and if that continues, we will probably drift above $12 if there are more interest cuts, or the dividend increases.
