RE: newsOr maybe they are just trying to get greater PUBLIC exposure so people understand the need for and benefit of their service. Politically, if a province such as Ontario is going to invest in such a venture, it has to be sold to the voter. As soon as such a major expenditure is announced, no matter how benificial or necessary it may be, the opposition argument will immediately be that the money would be better spent in health, education etc. The most effective route would be to educate the public and create a grassroots desire and understanding before the issue enters the political arena. People react emotionally to hospitals and schools while technological advancement stirs less passion in the voter. The recent Eves funding increases in these areas may have been the first move in addressing those concerns so new projects can be introduced.
