RE: oil and gasHOUSTON, May 14 -- US drilling activity rebounded with the biggest weekly rig count so far this year and the largest number of rotary rigs working in more than 2 ½ years.
There were 1,162 rotary rigs working this week in the US and its waters, 9 more than the previous week and up from 1,040 during the same period a year ago, said Baker Hughes Inc. officials Friday. That gain was primarily on the land side, up by 11 rigs to 1,043 units this week. Inland waters activity also increased by 1 unit to 24. Offshore operations were down by 3 rigs to 93 in the Gulf of Mexico and 95 in US waters as a whole.

In one of its biggest victories ever, Trinidad and Tobago beat out several strong competitors for Atlantic LNG's $1 billion liquefied natural gas plant -- reportedly the single largest industrial investment ever in the Caribbean. The plant recently opened near Point Fortin, on Trinidad's west coast.

The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad & Tobago has awarded offshore block 5(c) to Canadian Superior of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Block 5(c) is an 80,041-acre tract in 150 m of water on Trinidad's continental shelf. It is estimated to contain up to 4 tcf of natural gas reserves and was part of the 2003/2004 Competitive Bidding Round.
"This represents a major achievement for Canadian Superior and we are extremely pleased with the result, which is a credit to Canadian Superior's experienced planning and technical teams, "said Greg Noval, president of Canadian Superior. "Trinidad is one of the most coveted oil and gas exploration basins in the world today¿Block 5(c) represents a world-class opportunity for Canadian Superior and possesses natural gas exploration potential and offsets the Dolphin gas field that is operated by British Gas."

Hopefully WPT can push a few fence-sitters off and pull in some sales.
Good timing for this event with what's happening in Iraq. There would have to be heightened awareness of fuel consumption and oil prices.
I'll bet that this show will facilitate a sale of at least 25 and as high 100. Out of all the shows I have participated in there is not one that hasn't generated sales for even the crummiest of companies.
