RE: antonius is correct, sales are not growing

RE: antonius is correct, sales are not growingFiscal 2002 revenue was $31,370,000 Fiscal 2003 revenue was $24,600,000 Fiscal 2004 is set to just top $30 million LOL I don't know what kind of glasses you are crunching your numbers through but in Accounting 101 those figures ARE considered growth. But all jokes aside. The new L Gas Plus natural gas engine targets the largest customer base yet. The "L Gas Plus offers the best-in-class emissions at 1.4 grams per brake horsepower hour of oxides of nitrogen (g/bhp-hr NOx) plus non-methane hydrocarbon (NMHC) and 0.01 g/bhp-hr particulate matter (PM). Relative to the levels required under current US EPA standards, the L Gas Plus produces 40% less NOx + NMHC emissions and 90% less PM emissions." Unless you are fleet operator those figures mean nothing. But under the micro-scope that engine fits a huge customer base. With tougher air pollution standards coming down the pike potential buyers would be foolish not to equip at least part of their fleets in order to show willingness to comply. Putting more smog spewers on the road just isn't the prudent route to take at this point. Even if pollution standards were to become less stringent in the forseeable future the writing is on the wall. Eventually in the litigation nation lawsuits will result as polluters come under increasing scrutiny. Cummins Westport Launches L Gas Plus Engine at WasteExpo 5/17/04 VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 17, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Cummins Westport, Inc. (CWI) (TSX:WPT), announced today that its high-performance low-emissions L Gas Plus natural gas engine will be launched May 17, 2004 in Dallas, Texas at WasteExpo, the largest solid waste and recycling tradeshow in North America. The Cummins Westport L Gas Plus combines the environmental advantages of clean-burning natural gas engines with more than enough power and torque for heavy duty refuse trucks, municipal works trucks, medium duty trucks and transit bus applications. In addition, the L Gas Plus has a variable geometry turbocharger that provides impressive low-end torque and transient response. Its industry-leading power-to-weight ratio delivers superior efficiency in many applications. The L Gas Plus is the latest addition to the Cummins Westport family of 'Plus'engines, joining the B and C Gas Plus. The L Gas Plus uses Lean Burn Spark Ignition combustion technology with an oxidation catalyst. Cummins Westport announced its first order for this engine in July 2003, with an order for 200 articulated buses, with a further option of 400, for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Los Angeles County. At 8.9 liters, the L Gas Plus offers best-in-class power-to-weight ratio with 320 horsepower (hp) at 2300 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 1000 lb-ft at 1400 rpm weighing in at only 1500 lbs. Along with high performance, the L Gas Plus offers the best-in-class emissions at 1.4 grams per brake horsepower hour of oxides of nitrogen (g/bhp-hr NOx) plus non-methane hydrocarbon (NMHC) and 0.01 g/bhp-hr particulate matter (PM). Relative to the levels required under current US EPA standards, the L Gas Plus produces 40% less NOx + NMHC emissions and 90% less PM emissions. 'The L Gas Plus is the perfect complement to the Cummins Westport product line and we are excited to offer our customers a product with the power required to take on their heavy duty needs above 280 horsepower,'said Hugh Foden, President of Cummins Westport. 'The L Gas Plus offers the cleanliness and cost effectiveness of natural gas without compromising performance.' Cummins Westport Inc., a joint venture of Cummins Inc. (NYSE:CMI) and Westport Innovations Inc. (TSX:WPT), develops and markets low-emissions, alternative fuel engines manufactured by Cummins. Cummins is a global power leader in engines, electrical power generation systems and related technologies.
