Subject: Commodities we've only just begunYes I've seen that stuff about the great commodities bull market, but I have also seen mention that Nickel might not be included in it. Have a look at the international nickel study group website https://www.insg.org/pressrel.htm These guys are predicting that increaced usage of non or low nickel stainless steel + the increased recovery of nickel from stainless steel scrap together with increased production will enable supply to match demand in 2005. Hmmm. but they are also expecting China to apply the brake to their 'overheated' economy - However I see large Chinese stainless steel mills coming into production in 2005 that require huge quantities of nickel, I also see that China will not want to do anything to cut back prior to the Olympic Games being held there, it is a matter of national prestige. My own take is that China will keep steaming along, and the nickel production will fall short of demand. But there are 14million short sales of inco out there that say otherwise. We shall see.
