MILLSTREAM REPORTS STATUS OF 3-D IMAGING PROJECT
OF ITS VMS POTTER MINE DEPOSIT
Toronto, Ontario – Millstream Mines Ltd. (MLM-TSX-V) wishes to announce that, in the near term, the company will receive all of the digitized information including the constructed 3D model of the mineral deposit and potential targets to be investigated. The Potter Mine Property is located in northern Ontario, Canada in the Timmins, more specifically Matheson area of the highly prolific Abitibi Greenstone belt.
In 2004, the company submitted an application to “Discover Abitibi Initiative 3D Deposit Model Project” for the Potter property which was accepted (see MLM PR Oct. 25, 2004). All of the collected data of the property; vertical plans and level plans, geology, geophysics, drill holes, drill logs and assays, in-hole directional surveys and in-hole geophysical surveys were digitized. From this digitized information, a 3 D model of the geology, structures, mineral deposits and mine openings was created by Mining Innovation, Rehabilitation and Applied Research Corporation (“MIRARCO”). MIRARCO WAS FORMED THROUGH A COLLABORATION BETWEEN Laurentian University’s Mining Research Centres in Sudbury, Ontario and the private and public sectors.
This virtual reality visual technology, which allows the dataset to be rotated in any direction, enhances the ability to view the relevant information from all possible angles in a seamless and fluid manner. It also enables the viewer to “walk into” virtual areas of geological interest as well as, in contrast, to view the bigger picture from afar. This allows new insight into the geological and structural controls influencing the mineral depositions and the ability to visualize potential areas for further investigation.
Management is of the opinion that with this ability to present a working 3D imagery of the Potter mineralization to the public and potential investors funding to move forward on this significant VMS project will be obtainable in the year 2005.
The following table outlines the highlights of the past drilling:
